The right product for every stage of life

Who needs omega-3?
Due to different nutritional goals, recommendations for the intake of omega-3 fatty acids vary. The recommended daily amount of EPA and DHA is based on considerations relating to maintaining the cardiovascular system and to neurological development.

Existing illnesses should always be clarified by a doctor and treated accordingly.

Find out what role omega-3 fatty acids play during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Pregnant and breastfeeding women
Maternal intake of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the normal brain and eye development of the foetus and breastfed infants. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 200 mg DHA in addition to the recommended daily intake for omega-3 fatty acids for adults (250 mg DHA and EPA). In the last trimester of pregnancy, pregnant women are advised to consume at least 200 mg DHA per day. This advice comes from the Swiss Society for Nutrition (SGE), which emphasises the importance of omega-3 fatty acids for the development of the foetal brain and retina.

Omega-3 from algae oil and Ahiflower®
Ahiflower® oil is obtained from the seeds of the Ahiflower® plant. These are crushed, extracted, refined and filtered. The plants are grown exclusively in the UK by independent farmers using regenerative methods. The quality of Ahiflower® oil is based on its purity and certification. By using algae oil and Ahiflower, we protect the oceans and support sustainable agriculture

Frequently Asked Questions

Is vegan algae oil just as valuable as fish oil?

Yes. The algae oil provides the same relevant omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA as fish oil, entirely without fish, plus vitamin D3 and E.

What does the Omega-3 liquid taste like and how do I take it?

It has a pleasant, natural mango flavor. Take 1 teaspoon (5 ml) daily, either straight or stirred into salads, smoothies, porridge, or yogurt.

Is the liquid suitable for children?

Yes, ideal for anyone who does not want to swallow capsules. Children 3 to 9 years: a quarter teaspoon daily; 10 to 17 years: half a teaspoon daily (see packaging for details).

How should the algae oil be stored after opening?

After opening, store in the refrigerator and use within 2 months, shake briefly before use. When chilled, the oil may become slightly cloudy, without any loss of quality.

Is it really 100% vegan?

Yes, it is completely fish-free and suitable for vegans and vegetarians.

Is the vegan algae oil liquid worth it?

For adults, one bottle lasts around 20 days (approx. €2.15 per day), for children considerably longer. It replaces several fish meals per week and provides omega-3 in a reliable dosage.

Is algae oil really equivalent to fish oil?

Yes, the same EPA and DHA, obtained directly from algae. This is sustainable and avoids the heavy metal issue associated with animal fish oils.
