Green tea and green tea extract for immune system, cardiovascular system and memory
Green tea strengthens the immune system
Polyphenols and flavonoids from green tea improve immune functions and increase resistance to infections.

Green tea protects you from flu-like infections
Green tea can protect you from being infected with a flu-like infection. There is a positive synergy with vitamin C.

Green tea protects the cardiovascular system from arteriosclerosis
Green tea helps to prevent heart disease and strokes by favorably influencing your cholesterol level and lipid metabolism. It accelerates recovery after a heart attack.

Green tea and anti-aging
Polyphenols, a special class of antioxidants, can efficiently fight free radicals, thereby slowing down aging processes and promoting longevity. This effect is additionally strengthened by vitamin E.

Green tea and weight control
Green tea can help with weight loss. It improves fat burning and increases the metabolic rate (basal metabolic rate) in a natural way. Some cups help to burn about 70 extra calories per day, which can even mean losing a few extra pounds per year. Green tea protects from obesity by limiting the absorption of glucose in fat cells.

Green tea improves memory performance
Green tea helps to improve memory performance. It’s clear: there is still no cure for Alzheimer’s disease. But green tea combats the reduction of acetylcholine in the brain. Acetylcholine is believed to play a significant role in the course of the disease.

Green tea helps us to achieve mental balance during stress
L-theanine, an amino acid in green tea, has a psychologically balancing effect and can help to reduce stress and anxiety.

Green tea and healthy skin
Antioxidants in green tea protect the skin from the free radicals that cause wrinkles and skin aging. Green tea is also reputed to offer skin cancer protection.

Green tea and arthritis protection
Green tea can help reduce the risk of arthritis because it protects cartilage tissue by blocking inflammatory enzymes that can attack cartilage tissue.

Green tea prevents osteoporosis
The fluoride content in green tea helps to strengthen bones and teeth. Daily consumption can help to maintain bone density.

Green tea for diabetes sufferers
Green tea helps to regulate the lipid and sugar metabolism, prevents a steep rise in blood sugar levels and keeps the metabolism in balance.

Green tea protects the liver
Green tea increases the success rate in liver transplantations. Researchers have also shown that green tea can neutralize the free radicals that are produced in a fatty liver.

Green tea helps to combat high blood pressure Drinking green tea helps to keep blood pressure down because green tea suppresses the production of too much angiotensin, a substance that leads to high blood pressure.

Green tea and blood sugar
The polyphenols and polysaccharides in green tea help to lower blood sugar naturally.

Green tea and herpes
Green tea has an antiviral effect and therefore increases the effectiveness of external interferon treatment for herpes. Green tea can first be applied to the affected area of skin with a compress, after which a special herpes treatment can be applied.

Green tea and dental health
Thanks to its antibacterial and antiviral properties, green tea fights the germs that can cause gum disease. It also reduces the production of harmful acids by bacteria.
Coenzyme Q10, is an endogenous substance and involved in many enzyme reactions. Its chemical structure is similar to the fat-soluble vitamins E and K. The coenzyme Q10 molecule consists of a ring system – quinone – and a side chain with 10 isoprene units (additional designation 10). Thanks to the side chain, good distribution and mobility is ensured in the cell membrane (lipid phase).

Physiological significance
• Key function in cellular energy metabolism
• Antioxidative cell protection, thereby also strengthening the immune system
• Stabilization of the cell membranes

Coenzyme Q10 is an important component of various enzyme complexes in the mitochondria and plays a central role in energy production (ATP) in the respiratory chain. Energy is generated in the mitochondria by oxidative phosphorylation (hydrogen or electron transport). Q10 transfers electrons between flavoproteins and cytochromes. It goes without saying that a Q10 deficiency affects the cellular bioenergetics. At the same time, the oxidative load of the mitochondria is increased, which accelerates the cellular aging process. During ATP production, free oxygen radicals are inevitably produced with a damaging effect on mitochondrial DNA. A sufficient saturation of the cells with Q10 is the indispensable prerequisite for a physiological ATP supply of the muscle cells. Q10 ensures good performance of the heart and skeletal muscles. Inflammatory processes are associated with an increased consumption of vitamin E because its degradation products are toxic. Q10 regenerates membrane-attached vitamin E even more effectively than vitamin C (vitamin E saving effect). Q10 and vitamin E synergistically inhibit lipid peroxidation (fat oxidation) in the cell membranes.

Q10 as an energy activator
Just as, in a hydroelectric power station, the energy of the river is converted into electrical energy via a turbine, so in every human cell, the energy from food is converted into the body’s own energy (= ATP). The coenzyme Q10 plays the role of the turbine here: it helps to convert food components into energy for the cell after the digestive process. Only after this conversion is the energy contained in the food usable for humans.
The coenzyme Q10 does not provide the cell with energy, but rather enables it to activate energy from food. 95 percent of total body energy is activated by Q10.

Your Q10 requirement depends on: medication intake, environmental influences and age
Normally, the body supplies itself with sufficient Q10, but special stress or strain can increase the body’s Q10 requirement. For example, athletes or people operating under heavy physical strain are more likely to have a Q10 deficiency. Similarly, mental stress and illness increase the Q10 requirement of the body. Treating increased cholesterol levels with so-called statins is an established, successful application for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases. Regardless of the undisputed advantages of statin treatment (which lowers the «bad» LDL cholesterol), the body’s own biosynthesis of coenzyme Q10 is reduced as an undesirable side effect.

Possible causes of deficiency/increased need
• Age:
Decrease in cardiac Q10 levels (by 30% and 80% for a 40-year-old or 80-year-old, respectively). The highest Q10 concentrations in the human body are found in organs with high energy turnover (heart, liver, kidney).
• Increased requirement:
age, competitive sports, smoking, stress, chronic diseases. Intake of CSE inhibitors (statins).

Gradual replenishment of Q10 stores in the body
The Q10 level in the body changes slowly and gradually through dietary supplementation with coenzyme Q10 until normalization is achieved. The coenzyme is initially used to replenish our Q10 reservoir and only then is it available for additional tasks. The pace at which Q10 develops its effect in our body depends mainly on our physical condition and the existing Q10 level. For example, coenzyme Q10 can become effective after only a few days if the deficit was very high. With a slight Q10 deficiency, on the other hand, the level rises slowly until it has normalized. This normalization process can take up to 3 months. Short-term, low-dose intake is of little use. Coenzyme Q10 should be taken for at least three months.

Dosage for general prevention:
30 - 60 mg per day
Important! Take with meals (dietary fats significantly improve oral bioavailability).

Multivitamins minerals & trace elements for the prevention of chronic and malignant diseases
A balanced diet with five portions of fruit and vegetables plus a multivitamin preparation: this is the recommendation of two American authors after evaluating the literature (review) of the previous 35 years on the topic, «prevention of chronic and malignant diseases through vitamins». In this journal (JAMA), the authors then make recommendations for clinical application. Although obvious vitamin deficiency symptoms are rare today, suboptimal vitamin levels are relatively common because many people do not get enough vitamins with their food. Suboptimal levels are defined in such a way that specific metabolic disorders occur which are remedied by vitamin intake, such as the drop in parathyroid hormone levels in the blood when vitamin D is administered. Scientists propose the following recommendations:
– A balanced diet with five portions of fruit and vegetables a day is still essential.
– Taking a multivitamin preparation (after a specialist has asked you about your dietary habits and intake of medication and vitamins).
– For older people, vitamins B12 and D may be added.
