Joint nutrients for cartilage

So movement is fun again!

During phases of increased physical stress, when tissue breakdown exceeds tissue buildup, overload complaints occur. Partial tears or even ruptures of, for example, the Achilles tendon are the result. In such cases, additional supply of the substances essential for tendon nutrition can achieve both pain relief and increased load capacity. Likewise, the healing process after surgeries on tendons and ligaments can be supported, thus shortening rehabilitation.

Joint nutrients for cartilage, tendons, and pain relief

Targeted nutrition of collagen tissue

During phases of increased physical stress, when tissue breakdown exceeds tissue buildup, overload complaints occur. Partial tears or even ruptures of, for example, the Achilles tendon are the result. In such cases, additional supply of the substances essential for tendon nutrition can achieve both pain relief and increased load capacity. Cartilage formation

Joint cartilage consists of four basic substances: collagen, cartilage tissue, chondrocytes (cartilage cells), and water. The cartilage-building substances include glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, and collagen hydrolysate. All of these are also natural components of cartilage tissue and their effects are supported by vitamins C and E as well as manganese.

Collagen hydrolysate is a pure protein that provides important collagen amino acids for cartilage formation. It is made up of amino acids, often including the amino acid combination proline – hydroxyproline – glycine. The cartilage substance found in joints consists largely of collagen protein. To renew and strengthen collagen structures, a daily intake of 10 g collagen hydrolysate is recommended. Studies confirm the pain-relieving effect of this dosage after just a few weeks.

A meaningful product for connective tissue and especially for joint cartilage should also contain the following vital nutrients:

  • Chondroitin sulfate
  • Glucosamine sulfate
  • Sulfur donor, e.g., in the form of sulfur-containing polysaccharides from algae
  • Trace elements such as manganese and copper

Products with these ingredients show very good tolerability in all studies.

According to the therapy recommendations of the European rheumatology and osteoarthritis specialists (EULAR), both glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate are awarded grade 1 A (scientifically best-evidenced efficacy regarding pain relief and positive influence on disease progression).

Various clinical studies in the USA and Europe have shown that glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate not only have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties for joint problems but can also restore already damaged cartilage and tendon tissues.

The bioactive form of glucosamine is glucosamine sulfate, which improves synovial viscosity and thus the "joint lubricant." It also stimulates anabolic processes in the joint cartilage, relieves pain in the long term, and can counteract joint space narrowing.

Chondroitin is only bioavailable in its sulfated form as chondroitin sulfate. Chondroitin sulfate is characterized by its high water-binding capacity in cartilage tissue. Chondroitin sulfate should be taken at a dosage of at least 500 mg per day.

Manganese is an essential trace element involved, among other things, in bone growth and protein synthesis. It is also important for the body's own glucosaminoglycan production.

Sulfur serves as a binding substance in connective and supportive tissue, increases water-binding capacity, and is important for collagen synthesis. Sulfate ions inhibit cartilage-degrading enzymes.

Vitamin C and vitamin E are essential for the optimal incorporation of amino acids into the connective tissue matrix. Without these vitamins, the connective tissue fibrils cannot form as a helix, elasticity decreases, and the collagen fibers lose strength.

A joint treatment with these nutrients should last at least 3 to 4 months.

The effect of these cartilage protectants can be further enhanced by highly concentrated fish oil omega-3 fatty acids and natural vitamin E (D-alpha-tocopherol).

Sports injuries - Protect your body under high strain

Applications

As a former active runner (many marathons, 100 km of Biel, Switzerland), I know how lengthy it can be for sports injuries to fully heal. Often, athletes lack the patience to give their bodies enough time. Therefore, everything should be done to prevent sports injuries from happening at all.

Based on our experience with athletes, we can say that Vita Pro-Flex Drink and Vita Collagen Complex have positive effects both preventively and during the healing process. Protect your body under high strain to prevent sports injuries from occurring in the first place.

Protection against sports injuries!

A good supply of collagen hydrolysate
  • enhance load capacity
  • increase tensile strength
  • provide more stability

The functions of glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate

They are natural, highly concentrated amino sugars that are synthesized by a healthy and youthful body from food itself and are essential building blocks for joint cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and bone structures, as well as for connective tissue, arterial walls, and skin in general.

Conclusion on the use of joint nutrients such as collagen hydrolysate, chondroitin sulfate, and glucosamine sulfate

  • Building blocks for tendons, ligaments, and joint cartilage
  • Cartilage-preserving = chondroprotective
  • Joint pain is alleviated in the long term
  • Painkillers can be reduced
  • Mobility and joint function are significantly improved
  • Good tolerability
