The ingredients
Bitter plants
Artichoke leaves, dandelion, gentian root and milk thistle are among the plants rich in bitter compounds.
Choline
A vitamin-like nutrient. The body produces it itself in small amounts; the remaining requirement is covered through food.
Turmeric
The rhizome of Curcuma longa (turmeric). It provides curcumin, the characteristic yellow pigment. The processing of the raw material is what matters.
Pomegranate extract
The fruit of the pomegranate tree (Punica granatum) contains polyphenols.
Pine bark extract (OPC)
Provides polyphenols, including oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC).
Coenzyme Q10
A substance produced by the body that occurs in every cell and is also partly taken in through food.
L-carnitine
A substance produced by the body from the amino acids lysine and methionine. In food, it is found mainly in meat and dairy products.
Saffron
Saffron (Crocus sativus L.) is obtained from the stigmas of the saffron crocus flower and is the most expensive spice in the world.
Pepper
Black pepper (Piper nigrum) contains piperine, the substance responsible for its pungency.
Ginger
The rhizome of the ginger plant (Zingiber officinale), used worldwide as a spice.
Astaxanthin
A natural carotenoid from the microalga Haematococcus pluvialis. It gives salmon and crustaceans their red colour.
