A gift for your jointGlucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate are natural, highly concentrated amino sugars that are synthesized by healthy, youthful bodies from food and are essential building blocks for joint cartilage, tendons, ligaments, and bone structures, as well as for connective tissue, arterial walls, and skin in general. Glucosamine, together with chondroitin sulfate, also serves to repair and rebuild damaged cartilage in the joints and spine, and to promote bone formation. Glucosamine sulfate is one of the body's own substances required for the production of all "lubricating and cushioning layers," i.e., the cartilage in the joints, but also the synovial fluid, the so-called "joint lubricant." These substances are called glucosaminoglycans and are mucopolysaccharides (high-polymer compounds made of amino sugars), which also include chondroitin sulfate. The body uses glucosamine to form chondroitin sulfate – the main component of all cartilage. |

A deficiency in glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate causes the normally viscous synovial fluid to become thin and watery, and the cartilage of the joint capsules to shrink and become brittle. This can lead to erosion of the cartilage layers, resulting in joint inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and pain. Modern medicine refers to these changes as "wear and tear." In reality, however, in most cases, they are caused by deficiencies. Glucosamine sulfate and the macromolecules formed from it help restore the synovial fluid in the joints and spine to its normal state and, together with chondroitin sulfate, repair damaged cartilage. Various clinical studies in the USA and Europe have shown that glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate not only have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties for joint problems but can also regenerate already damaged cartilage and tendon tissue. |
